Bad Company 2: Multiplayer

Now that we are on the subject of Bad Company 2, I might as well talk about the multi player.

I love Modern Warfare multi player. When a new Call of Duty comes out, the multi player grabs me and doesn’t let go for some time. The very basic game mechanics (read: the shooting) are so well implemented that you can’t get enough.

But what does Call of duty have to do with Bad Company 2? Well, where Modern Warfare succeeds in creating that great, albeit repetitive gameplay, Bad Company provides many more gameplay elements. This creates an array of different situations you can get into, and a lot of different ways to survive in these situations. One of my coolest moments: stealing an Apache attack helicopter from the enemies with the help of a friend and wreaking unexpected havoc.

Also great is the Rush game mode, in which one team tries to blow up objectives and the other defends them, in the Enemy Territory tradition. I’ve always liked this kind of multiplayer mode, the outcomes tend to be more engaging than pure deathmatch. One time your team will execute a perfect assault and destroy the objectives in no time, another time you’ll be defending your points against unrelenting enemy assaults, and you’ll only narrowly win, and hear the cries of victory in whatever VoIP software you use. That is best in life.
